Great Durability

I've had my SteppIR antenna up about 10 years now and recently had to bring it down for a refurbishment. Upon inspecting the coax (LL400), it look almost exactly the same as the day it was installed. No real deterioration of the jacket was noticed at all. I did a cable loss test using my analyzer and it came out to .95 DB at 50 mHz, which is what I would expect for a 125' run. I have another antenna I will be putting up along with the SteppIR after the refurb and you can be sure it will be JEFA Tech cable feeding it!

Great value.

I have found no difference is the use of the JEFA Tech Low Loss 400 Coax over the actual LMR 400 cable. It have the same ohms and durability. The RG 59 connectors fit securely and have not indicated a brittle center conductor as I have found on some equivalent type coax.I would recommend the JEFA Tech Low Loss 400 to all my friends.

Good, inexpensive

Works fine. Good sub for $1= TM cable.

I have 130 feet of it out to a 40/80M dipole. its not burial cable, but it lays on the ground in water to no ill effect.

Only drawback I have seen is that the extra flexibility is not good when trying to work with 100 feet plus in the yard, it tends to kink whereas the stiffer TM cable does not. Not a huge problem, just be careful un-rolling it.

Thank you for the review Dave! Just a tip - with any coax you want to roll out the coil, like a wheel, or else it will be prone to kinking. Best bet for a long length before putting it up on the tower is to roll it out straight in the yard, then pull it up the tower. That way you won't have any kinks. Also it is direct burial rated - you mentioned it was not. You can lay it directly on the ground or bury it in non-rocky soil without conduit with no problem. Thanks!
